2008年2月16日 · Lightweight considering and gets the job done. The M40A3 is a battle club bench gun. M40A1, acceptably accurate, tough as nails, and a stock that is about as versatile as they come. The M24 is made by a company looking to make a buck, but the M40 is made by Marines looking to make a kill.

2008年9月27日 · The M24 is assembled at the factory and shipped to the army as a "sniper rifle" and is a pretty good performer. The M40 gets shipped to the USMC, where it is stripped down, torn apart, modified and put back together with custom crafted parts, and issued as a "sniper rifle" its a little bit better performer.

2006年9月5日 · In the 700P line it would make it affordable but in the M24 line you can most likely get a good custom 338 built for less just like the .308 M24. Hopefully the 700P will offer it as it would be great to have a good ultra long range rifle in an affordable package that isn't the AR30.

The rifle has a 24 inch barrel with a 1:11.25 twist rate on five-groove radial (5R)rifling in a heavy match grade barrel. Also, the stock is a black H-S Precision tactical stock with an adjustable rate of pull.

2005年5月31日 · Shuggerz. Hands down M40 A1. The A1 to me is a great field system. The stock works in all positions, not all that heavy, still will set like an anvil in your ruck, or off your pod, and is much easier to maneuver with. Got a chance to shoot a TBA M24 clone. Nothing to be really excited about, just a 308 in a long action.

2004年5月13日 · 9401 posts · Joined 2004. #18 · May 20, 2004. In terms of the .300 WM in the M24, it was designed to be "possible" though its certainly not easy. The barrel has to be replaced with a .300WM barrel, and the bolt also has to be replaced (case head diameter).

2004年8月27日 · The US Army (SF guys) has indeed converted a good number of M24's to .300WM, so it wasn't a waste to use the long action, just a waste for the poor bloody infantry that doesn't get the .300 WM. SR90 is a good rifle, as is the M24. M24 is a better military issued rifle, the SR90 is a more custom rifle. Not exactly a apple to apple comparison.
