If its like the model 3 battery ~70 kWh charging at a peak of 250 kW this thing would really need a 2.5 MW charger to not be charger constrained.

2022年1月29日 · Tesla model 3 battery pack is about 500 kg and the car has a range of about 325 miles. That's 1.53 kg/mi. A Corolla gets 40 mpg and gas is 2.76 kg/gal. That's 0.07 kg/mile. So 1.53/.07 is 22x more fuel weight per mile for the Tesla! To get the same range as a semi with 300 gallons of fuel you need 17.5 tons of battery.

We know Tesla is planning to expand supercharger network significantly and they are planning to build much bigger stations. Those battery swaps don't even have to be automated.

How do you suppose Tesla counter balanced that weight increase to “match the diesel equivalent?” On a standard daycab you can get about 49,000 lbs of cargo. I would imagine the Tesla can haul more like 40,000 lbs. Its simple math.

I don't think anyone knows the true density of Tesla's new Cybertruck 4680 cells, but if Tesla has better energy density/motor efficiency then Rivian it seems very possible that a Long Range pack could get 500miles or closer. Furthermore, 123Kwh is 82.5% of 149kwh.

2023年10月16日 · Tesla often overstates. A Rivian gets 2.5 miles/kwh. Let’s say Tesla is more efficient at 2.75miles/kwh. That would estimate the battery size to be 180kwh or so. That would give us a realistic real world highway range of 400+ miles. If we go by Tesla calculations NA Dover state the range for US roads, they might claim 3 miles/kwh.
