It officially started in 1912 when the U.S. Postmaster General called for the postal service to handle letters to Santa.
Unfortunately, children with significant disabilities have often had limited exposure to the alphabet. Exposure to the alphabet helps children to learn that letters are part of reading and writing.
The pandemic has presented many with an urge to express their feelings in writing. And for some that means passing on, in letters to their children, parts of themselves hitherto hidden from view.
The NC Dept. of Agriculture is getting those letters to farmers, families, and workers in Western North Carolina.
